Sudden bad climatic change.

The weather condition on the slopes of mount Kilimanjaro 'had' always been satisfying; enough rainfall, evergreen, wet soil, and cold temperature condition, just to mention a few. This made the place to be good for both crop production and animal keeping. For Maua seminary is located on the slopes of mount Kilimanjaro, the seminary depends a lot on her own agricultural products, such as maize, beans, a variety of fruits, milk, meat, animal pasture. Apart from agricultural products the seminary's water system was built taking water from springs and rivers of fresh water flowing on these slopes.

But early this year 2017, a great threat was encountered, as several bad climatic changes were observed. There was a slight increase in temperature as experienced by people, late rainfall or rainfall deviated from days which rain season normally takes place, a disturbance in water supply system, and even the ground became drier than how it always were which affected plants and the general view of the seminary's environment.

This shocked everybody. As a consequence; people found it difficult to cope with the temperature change(although very slight), it's boring without swimming for students, farm activities that depended on rain seasons were delayed until when rain started, washing and cleaning became difficult due to dependence on few water taps that were able to supply water, our brothers animals suffered as well which greatly affected us, as we missed milk and other products from them, we also missed the beautiful green view of our environment for a short time.

Although it only lasted for a short time, the experience we had was unpleasant both to us and all other creatures, and it was also a great threat and warning to what we do.

As the causes of such changes are commonly known, these changes might have been brought by different human activities such as industrialization as it's greatly done in Kilimanjaro(Moshi), cutting of trees for fuel and construction and clearing areas for other activities, increased use of fossil fuel, and misuse of water sources. There are many other reasons but here we have mentioned few of them just to show how we humans carelessly prepare our own fierce destiny.

Under this threat the seminary has already started making changes and preparing for any such situations that may occur in the future; alternative water supply systems are being created, a broader environmental conservation education is provided to both students and the surrounding neighbours, and various environmental conservation projects have been established such as better ways of disposing waste.

A such sudden bad climatic change conveys lots of information to us that may recently be just like alerts of the careless ways we behave for a little profit for now. Every human has intelligence which means humans understand and are able to change, so we hope if every person on the planet understands this alert message, we can make great changes that will make our planet a better place to live for the rest of human race coming after us.
